Here Hostel Bangkok was the first place I stayed after landing in this vibrant city. Even though I was jolted awake at 4 a.m. by a couple of British guests getting intimate in my dorm, I still rate it 10/10 (stay with me—this really is a fantastic hostel).
Beyond that dorm incident, from the moment I checked in, I felt like I’d stepped into a backpacker’s dream. You might wonder what makes it a backpacker’s dream exactly.
Let me set the scene.
Over ten dorm rooms plus private rooms, a yoga deck, a large pool with a jungle ambiance, a cafe, and a kitchen—and that’s only part of it. The amenities made me feel like I’d booked a five-star hotel. There are more than ten bathrooms and shower stalls so comfortable you forget you’re in a hostel. At $15 per night, it’s an absolute steal.
And that’s just the beginning. Read on to discover why this is my favorite hostel in Bangkok.

Making friends was easy…
Getting Acquainted with Here Hostel
Tucked away on a corner of old town Bangkok, Here Hostel is full of surprises. When my tuk-tuk dropped me off, I asked the driver to wait because the sketchy-looking corner didn’t seem promising. I was completely wrong.
Backpacking in Bangkok is a traveler’s dream, and the facilities and layout here are extraordinary. You can do laundry, hang your clothes, take a dip in the pool, and enjoy dinner in the garden with live music.
As I said earlier, my first night in a Bangkok hostel ended happily thanks to the 24-hour reception. I got a good night’s sleep, and my jet-lagged legs appreciated it. It’s not often you can walk up to the front desk at 5 a.m. at a hostel in Thailand and get help. I was beyond grateful.

This hostel gives you great value for your baht

How cool is this entrance?
Location of Here Hostel
Here Hostel is a 10-minute walk from the chaos of Khao San Road (both a blessing and a curse). Even though it’s technically in a party district, this hostel felt like a breath of fresh air. The garden and yoga deck kept me zen during my stay.
Besides being near some of the best things to do in Bangkok, Here Hostel has its own lively social scene. The connecting cafe often hosts pub crawls and karaoke nights. The best thing to look for in a hostel when traveling solo is a good social scene, and this place checks all the boxes.
My favorite aspect is the location: really close to all the cool things yet still somewhat hidden. You don’t hear music at night, and the hostel enforces an 11 p.m. no-noise rule, making it a great stop for staying in Bangkok.
Types of Rooms
Here Hostel offers various options:
Dorm Rooms: starting at 4 bunks per room up to 10, with optional mixed or female/male-only dorms.
Private rooms for families accommodating up to 4 people, and single-bed options.
With the curtains and spaciousness of the dorm beds, you won’t hesitate to book a shared room!
Price
With all the amenities included, this hostel really offers backpackers a great deal.
- Dorm € 8 – 15
- Private room € 30+
Do I Recommend Here Hostel?
If you’re on a Bangkok backpacking trip and looking for the best hostel in town, look no further. This place has my wholehearted budget backpacking blessing. A for value, A- for comfort, and A+ for the GOOD, GOOD vibes.
To be honest, when I arrived at Here Hostel I was at a point in my travels where I didn’t want to be solo. I was yearning for friendships and shared experiences. My cup was full after my stay.
The layout makes it so easy to mix and mingle. If you’re backpacking Thailand and want to make friends, stay here. You’ll have the best time!

Thanks Here Hostel for the new friendship <3
